Vision Therapy
If you or a family member has been diagnosed with dyslexia, reading and learning problems, attention deficits and/or poor comprehension when reading or working on a computer, there may be a visually-related problem (even if the person tests as seeing "20/20" during a routine eye exam).

Vision therapy is an effective, medically proven treatment for binocular (two-eyed) vision impairments, such as strabismus (crossed eye) and amblyopia (lazy eye).
Lazy Eye
Amblyopia, or lazy eye, is a condition where the vision in an eye is poor even with the best optical correction. Proper lens treatment with an aggressive therapy program can improve the vision in many cases. Simple patching has been shown to be only partially effective in treating this condition. Comprehensive in-office vision therapy will give the best chance to recover vision. The earlier the patient receives vision therapy the better, however, our office has successfully treated patients well pass 21 years of age.
Crossed Eyes
Crossed eyes, or strabismus, also require aggressive treatment. Many eye deviations can be treated without surgery. Those that ultimately require surgery have less of an incidence of repeat surgery if vision therapy is initiated first. Children suffering from developmental and neurological problems should delay surgery as long as possible and utilize stimulation procedures until neurological maturity is achieved. Call us to see if vision therapy can help you.
